Project 003
We took a prosthetic and transformed it into a brisket knife for disabled veteran and pit master, Donavan Hollis!
Through our bladesmith partner, JDCK, we will also be producing a line of knives with parts of one of Donavan’s old prosthetics implemented into the knife itself.
This run of knives will be to the general public in the near future!

Donavan Hollis
Husband, Father, Veteran, Business Owner
Donavan served 6 Years as an Airborne Army Ranger. In 2016, Donovan suffered an accident while on Fort Benning, resulting in the loss his right Leg. His road to recovery lead him to realize his passion for food and bringing people together. In 2019, he founded Hollis Tx BBQ.

Jeff Davidson
Husband, Bladesmith, Business Owner
Jeff is based in DFW and founded JDCK knives in 2002. His love for knives started at a young age, and he has turned that love into a career. His dedication to the craft and creativity is shown by his past projects, and his willingness to take this knife build for Donavan!

Hunter Clark
Husband, Father, Videographer
Hunter has an extensive background working within the 501c3 world. That work brought about his unique skillset of story making and producing films at a professional level. He is a board member of ReDefined Prosthetics, and plays the largest role in helping the organization produce amazing stories.
Project 3: Completed
It was ReDefined Prosthetics great honor to present Donavan Hollis, US Army Veteran and owner of Hollis TX BBQ, with this custom made JDCK brisket knife made with carbon fiber from Donavan’s very own prosthetic and carbon from a C130 aircraft. Donvan will use this brisket knife to feed others and help feed his family through his bbq business, Hollis TX BBQ
As an organization, we are proud to recognize and thank Donavan for his service to our country and are proud to recognize Jeff Davidson as a true patriot with his 100% gifted contribution of this custom made knife.
